?ngel graduated with a B.S. in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico, and was a research scholar as part of the post-baccalaureate research education program at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU). He obtained a Ph.D. in Molecular Virology from CWRU and did a post-doctoral fellowship at Lerner Research Institute, Cleveland Clinic. ?ngel has been an active member of academic and professional organizations focused on professional development, engagement, and advocacy. He is excited for the opportunity to contribute to the development of a diverse group of future Ph.Ds., bringing together the resources needed to support the McNair Scholars in their academic pursuits.

Amber received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Cleveland State in 2023. She is currently pursuing her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. When working towards her undergraduate degree, Amber actively participated in the Aging, Cognition, and Emotion (ACE) and Multimethod Assessment of Personality and Psychopathology (MAPP) Labs. She is still in the process of finishing an independent study that is focused on the topic of color preferences and mood. Outside of academia, Amber is an avid reader, music listener, and loves spending time with her dog and guinea pig. Being a first-generation student herself, she understands the importance of a program like McNair. With this in mind, Amber is passionate to work with all of the wonderful scholars!

Lia obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics at Cleveland State in 2023. She is now pursuing her Master of Science?in Mathematics, with a focus on predictive modeling. Throughout her studies, she has developed a passion for data analysis, machine learning, and statistics, and hopes to one day become a data scientist. She has also worked at CSU as a mathematics and statistics tutor. Outside of school, Lia is an Irish dancer and has had competitive success at the regional, national, and worldwide scales. She also enjoys traveling, drawing and painting, and hanging out with cats. Lia is excited to assist with the McNair program and get to know all of the scholars!
