Black Studies Program to Host Panel Discussion on Voter Education and Registration

VoteCleveland State University's Black Studies Program and the Office of Civic Engagement will host a panel discussion on how to address low voter turnout in the Black community on Wednesday, Oct. 3, at 12:00 p.m.

The panel discussion will take place in room 337 and the North Lobby of Ronald Berkman Hall?(formerly Main Classroom). Panelists will include:

  • Marsha Mockabee, president of the Urban League of Greater Cleveland
  • Marcia McCoy, president of the Greater Cleveland Chapter of the National Action Network (NAN)
  • Kent Whitley, a representative of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP)
  • Angela Woodson and Harold Wilson, representatives of the Greater Cleveland Voter Alliance/Ohio Unity Coalition?

Michelle B. Jackson of the Northeast Ohio Voter Advocates (NOVA) will assist the CSU Student Government Association, Black Student Union, Campus Vote, Black Studies Elites, and the CSU Democracy Fellows with registering students to vote.
