Cleveland State University students can join future entrepreneurs from throughout Northeast Ohio in an intensive training and business development seminar that could help turn an idea into the next startup success story.

Entrepreneurship Immersion Week (EIW) is an intensive, five-day, academic immersion experience for undergraduate students. It teaches the skills needed to develop new business concepts, and then helps students apply those skills in a team-based business concept competition. The 2019 edition will be held on the campus of Kent State University, July 28 through August 1, and?applications are due by July 1.?Participants will stay on the KSU campus for the duration of the event and meals and a stipend are provided.

Sponsored by the Burton D. Morgan Foundation, Entrepreneurship Immersion Week is the premiere activity of the Entrepreneurship Education Consortium. The EEC was formed by a group of Northeast Ohio universities to provide practical and theoretical education for students to better prepare them to become entrepreneurs, create new ventures and jobs, and build wealth for the region.?

Beyond imparting the necessary classroom fundamentals, the EEC encourages the exploration of new business concepts and facilitates fully developed business planning and funding, which leads to the start of new enterprises.

CSU’s participation in the EEC is managed by the Monte Ahuja College of Business and is a component of a comprehensive effort to enhance training and education in entrepreneurship, innovation and business development. This includes the annual Startup Vikes business plan competition and Vike Tank, a component of EEC’s IdeaLabs, a regional competition to foster student awareness and interest in business formation.
